DOGS for ADOPTION

Please Note:

Because Harmony Haven is dedicated to finding safe, caring homes for our animals:

We prefer that adopted dogs go to homes with a fenced YARD.  However, exceptions will be made on a case by case evaluation.

Harmony Haven animals may be adopted outside the Terre Haute area if a home visit can be arranged.  A home visit is normally required for all adoptions prior to actual completion of the adoption contract and placement. 

All information on applications will be verified before an animal is placed in a new home.

Narrative: Lucy is around 30-35 pounds and appears to have some newfoundland and lab in her background.  She is very friendly and playful with lots of energy.  She gets along well with other dogs and seems to be very fond of her "room-mate".  Lucy is paper-trained.  She loves attention and is delighted when anyone comes to see her.  Lucy would love to meet you!
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 

Narrative: Mindy is one sweet girl. She loves to take walks and she is so affectionate with people. She'd be excellent with children and is great with other dogs. Mindy is housetrained and well mannered and calm. She's a great girl who really wants to find a loving family. Narrative: Molly is an adorable puppy who was born around June 1 and weighs about 5 pounds. We consider her our "miracle" puppy because she was abandoned and crowded into a small box with her larger littermates.  As the smallest one, she was very weak.  But with lots of loving care, she is now healthy and playful. She lives in a large room with other small dogs and is visited often by the shelter cats.  She is so gentle and affectionate and takes every opportunity to be a "lap dog".

Narrative: Dolly is a real sweetheart who  resembles the puppies in the movie "101 Dalmations".  Dolly has been living in one of our largest rooms with several other small dogs.  She loves to play with them and also gets along with the cats that occasionally visit the room.  Dolly is gentle, playful, and loves to be with people.  She is already paper trained.  Come see her!
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 

Narrative: Kole is about knee high with short legs like his daddy had!  He is very loving and social and just has plenty of kisses to give you! Narrative: Rascal weighs about 8 pounds.  This is one adorable guy who loves to play and loves to be held.  He is definitely a "people" dog.  He lives in a large room with  other small dogs and is paper-trained.  He also does not object to the cats who visit frequently.  This

Narrative: Sparky is a real gentleman with a great personality.  He is very well behaved, friendly, and gets along well with the other dogs in the room.  He loves his toys and loves to play. One of his favorite playmates is a small puppy (see picture).  He often lets her "win" in tug-of-war.  Sparky is up to date on his shots, has been neutered, and is paper-trained.

Narrative: Boots is a real sweetie of a girl. She is about 30-35 pounds in size, and under knee height due to her short legs. She most likely has a little bit of some type of small breed terrier in her, dachsund, and then some lab. She has pointy ears. She has white on her feet, hence the name "Boots". Narrative: Murial is friendly, playful, and full of energy!  She looks very much like her mother, Beatrice.  She is up-to-date on her vaccinations, is leash trained, and is house trained.  Murial will make a delightful addition to your home.
 

Narrative: Lexi is one sweet girl. She is very calm and well mannered and what a great personality. She loves to play with other dogs and will delight you with her antics! Narrative: Clyde was found traveling with Bonnie, a Black and Tan Coonhound.  He is a handsome fellow, very friendly and a real gentleman.  If invited, Clyde will attempt to sit on your lap – or at least as much of him as will fit.  He is neutered, gets along well with the other dogs, is house trained, and enjoys walks on his leash.  Clyde will fit in well with your household and make a wonderful companion.

Narrative:  Maggie was found sitting along the highway waiting......and waiting.......  Apparently she had been abandoned, but she was hoping her family would come back for her.  A kind man was leaving food for her, but could not catch her.  One of the Harmony Haven staff was able to win her confidence enough to be able to bring her to the shelter.  She is a beautiful, friendly dog who will make a wonderful companion.  Maggie will do best as the "only pet" in the family.

Narrative:  Honey was locked in an abandoned house by her owners.  She had been without food for a week and was starving when she was rescued.  Despite this experience, Honey is gentle, loving and very friendly.  Although she had been mistreated, she snuggled into the lap of the Harmony Haven member who brought her to our sanctuary.  This beautiful puppy has gained weight, is now healthy, and has learned to "sit" and "shake hands".  She most certainly deserves a good home.
 

Narrative: Nadine (whose name in German means "Courage of a Bear) was abandoned and found by a staff member along with her 3 sisters.  Although she was frightened at first, she is now friendly, playful, and loves to be petted. Nadine has had her shots, has been dewormed, and is free of fleas.  Nadine would love to be part of your family!

Narrative: Nickey is a loveable puppy who is soft, cuddly, and healthy.   He was very cooperative during his photo session and won the photographers' hearts.  He and his litter-mates were abandoned. Nickey will make a wonderful family member.
 
 

Narrative: Ike is a sweet, lovelable puppy who is healthy and active.  Here he seems to be saying he would like to go for a walk with someone right into their home!  He is a member of a litter of eight who were abandoned.

Narrative: Bonnie was found traveling with Clyde, a hunting dog type.  Shortly after she was rescued, she had a litter of six puppies. Clyde had been neutered.  So he apparently was only a traveling companion. Bonnie is very friendly and a wonderful mother.  She likes to be petted and enjoys playing with Clyde—who was also rescued.

Narrative: Gretchen (whose name in German means "Little Pearl") was abandoned and found by a staff member along with her 3 sisters.  Although she was frightened at first, she is now friendly, playful, and loves to be petted. Gretchen is already paper-trained.  She has had her first shots, has been dewormed, and is free of fleas.  She is the smallest one of the sisters.  Gretchen hopes to join a family soon!
